I am in need of some parent help with a couple of things at the FT music department.
First, I have accumulated over 250 musical poems from students in my general music classes over the past ten years. These poems were designed to be “rapped” to a drum beat. This has been a regular assignment for all of my 6th graders for many years.
The creativity and quality of these “poems/raps” is amazing. The students in the AW district are very talented and I have saved the best of these raps for a long time hoping to do something with them.
I would like someone to help me edit and publish a “Best Of…” collections of these wonderful works of literature by our students. I would need someone to read and help me select 50 to 60 of the very best of these for a published booklet.
If you like to read entertain and truly “fun” poems by local kids, please reply to me at my school e-mail. I can’t emphasize enough how impressed and overjoyed you will be to read these works by our students.
Secondly, I need four or five people (probably Dads) of 6th grade band students to join us on stage at our April 3 Concert to play cordless drills and other “tools” for a piece called “Tool Time Tango”. It is a zany piece that includes parts for adults to play along with the band. You would be clanging wrenches, screwdrivers and other tools together back with the drummers. And yes, even cordless can be used.
If interested let me know.
