5th Grade Summer Band Schedule

We will be kicking off 5th Grade Band with a week of Summer Band beginner classes on August 8th through August 11th. I sent home a preliminary schedule for the week at the beginning of the summer. All 5th grade band students will need an instrument and the Traditions of Excellence Method Book on August 8th. If you have not yet acquired an instrument, please do so immediately. You can contact Rettig Music at 1-800-52-MUSIC or online at rettigmusic.com to order an instrument.

If you’ve already ordered an instrument from Rettig Music, it will be delivered to the school for your child to pick up on August 8th.

If you purchased or rented an instrument from any other source, please have your child bring the instrument with them on August 8th.

Fruit Sale update

Hello Anthony Wayne Band Parents!

I wanted to let you know that the Fruit Sale packets were handed out to band students starting on Wednesday Oct 7th. If you have not seen your student’s packet, please have them dig it out of their locker! (^:

There is a very informative letter in the front of the packet that explains the order turn in process for each school, as well as the pick up date and time.

  • November 2nd is order turn in, from 4-8:30pm in the HS auditorium lobby (note the paper flyer incorrectly says to go to the HS band room).
  • December 12th is order pick up, from 9am-Noon in the HS cafeteria.

When turning in your order, include the money for the purchases. Please make sure to list the student’s name, grade, and a phone number to reach you on December 12th (in case you forget to pick up your order).

Also, I am looking for 6 volunteers from 3:45-6:30pm and 6 volunteers from 6:15-8:30pm to assist with the turn in process. You will check each order as it is turned in.

Contact me if you are interested in one of the shifts. Pizza and pop will be provided for the volunteers. High school students can get credit for community service. Please let me know if your child is coming with you or alone so I can plan accordingly.

Fruit Sale 2015

WHY?

  • Support the Anthony Wayne Schools instrumental music program by providing funds for instruments, uniforms and travel for grades 5-12.
  • The goal this year is to have every student sell at least 3 items. The support by all students is needed to make this fundraiser a success!

WHAT are we selling?

  • Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit – the Healthy Choice for juicy citrus and other fresh fruit.
  • The Best of Club’s Choice – a delicious variety of food options for every day, special events or gifts and Spirit of the Season (cooking utensils items, wrapping paper, and much more).
  • Schmidt Brothers Poinsettias – beautiful locally grown holiday flowers.

WHEN & WHERE?

  • Sale Begins: The week of October 5th. Packets with order information will be distributed to band students during school. Collect money when orders are obtained. Make checks payable to AWBB.
  • Order Turn In: Monday, November 2nd, 2015, 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Parents/adults go to the High School Band Room to turn in your orders. All Orders and Money are due this day! Total each order form and bring all copies with you. (Do not turn in orders to the Band Directors in class.)
  • Order Pick Up: Saturday, December 12th, 9:00 a.m. – Noon. Go to the High School Cafeteria to pick up your orders. We are not responsible for orders not picked up.
  • Delivery to Customers: Within 24 hours of order pick up. For best quality, please deliver to your customers by December 13th, 2015.

HOW?

  • Please read through the packet carefully to see all the items available in this year’s fundraiser. Show order options to family and friends!
  • Write student’s full name and contact phone number on each of the 3 order forms.
  • Complete order form/s depending on products being ordered. There are 3 order forms: Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit,  Club’s Choice (Spirit of the Season and Today’s Favorites), Schmidt Brothers Poinsettias.

PRIZES!

  • Overall Top Seller will receive $100 cash.
  • Next 3 Top Sellers in Each School will earn $50, $35, and $20 cash.
  • Students selling $120 or more will receive coupons for free breadsticks from area restaurants.
  • Every student who sells at least 3 items (from any vendor) will receive a package of Skittles.
  • Additional Prizes for Club’s Choice orders only.
